Er, I are spammy today. I am catching up on Moran news, and it seems they've had a really bad year... Their music didn't grab me as much as I thought it would, but I like their image, and I follow Soan on Ameba.
First, their bassist, Zill, was really sick - to the point where he took a leave of absence for three months and had his spot filled by the former bassists for first Babylon, and then Sugar. He returned in August, and then in early September, it was announced that Velo, their guitarist, would be leaving the band in December (another one!), which would go on an indefinite hiatus.
This hasn't been well-translated yet, but it sounds like Hitomi is sick, now, too. He has a "broken voice," whatever that means. Since Soan is the only one who's mentioned it, I don't think it's too severe (perhaps just a cold), but still. I feel bad for Soan, since while nothing has happened to him personally, he's still had to cope with all of this, plus Jasmine You's death, which he took really hard.
Ah, and LiZ's announcement regarding Yuu's departure has been translated. My translation was similar, which makes me feel better about my translating (...i.e. dictionary-ing) skills, at least. >.>
Okay, this post is pretty pointless and also not picking me up after the revelation of the last post. :P I'm really kinda just occupying myself while seeing how much I can download before I get so tired that I fall asleep. The Internet has been somewhat faster than usual, and I am definitely going to take advantage of that. XD

Date: 2009-10-17 07:00 pm (UTC)I don't know most of the jrockers you've been talking about recently, but can I just say WTF?! Do band lineups usually change like this so often in the jrock scene? And what is with December being the month to leave bands? (Also I'm kind of glad I'm not into more jrock bands, I still haven't really gotten over ONE OK ROCK's loss of Alex and that was like at the beginning of the year.)
Also DDD: about school. Hope it only gets better from here. Have some Hyde!

Date: 2009-10-18 08:25 am (UTC)There's always a lot of flux with indies bands breaking up and forming, but I do feel like there's a lot more going on with more popular bands this year... a lot more hospitalizations/illnesses, and shuffling around. I guess they feel like they can at least stay until the end of the year, but I think I might prefer less notice. I keep reading SCREW!Yuuto's posts and feeling sad already. XD

Date: 2009-10-18 09:01 am (UTC)This is a rough year in jrock I guess. D: And I think it's all that advanced notice that makes me wtf the most. It just makes me want to know the reason for their leaving. "Oh I'll be leaving... in a few months!" Just seems so weird.
Maybe it's a Japanese thing.I know when *I* had decided to quit a job I didn't like even the last two weeks was too much.no subject
Date: 2009-10-18 09:58 pm (UTC)Yuuto gave one of the most advance notices I've seen of someone leaving (disbanding is different), though SCREW also just started a tour, so I can see why he'd not just leave right now. Most of them cite "musical differences," as a reason, but Iris and I are sort of speculating that maybe Yuuto is really leaving for health reasons. For me, this is partially because I don't want to imagine strife in the SCREW family, but also because Yuuto does seem prone to sickness/feeling emo when they tour, and because none of them seem to want him to leave.
But yeah, it does seem weird that if you're going to be like, "BTW, guys, I'm leaving in a few months," even if you're just rehearasing and doing a few more performances, it could be awkward.
