yeouyaIt is 1:03am... and now we shall see how long it takes me to type this up... Anyways, today it is Yuu's birthday (*points at icon*), and if I wait around to finish pseudo-translating the one questionnaire/survey I have for LiZ, I would never make this post, so....

[Dec 2009 - PLEASE NOTE: This post is pretty out of date and some bits are inaccurate. So don't take it too seriously! One day, I will update it. >.>]
LiZ is a visual kei band that currently under the Speed-disk label (home of Ayabie, UnsraW, Wizard, D=OUT, and others). Apparently (i.e. I just found this), they joined Speed-disk in May 2007, and I don't know where they were before. They were formed in 2005, with a slightly different line-up than they have now.
These days, they play a lot of multi-band gigs, and were part of a several-month promotion by Shoxx, who grouped them with Saruin, PureQ&A, and xTRiPx. Individual members also participate in session bands with random other people.
At the beginning of October 2009, Yuu announced that he was going to be leaving the band due to musical differences. A month later, on November 11, Vict announced that he would leave along with Yuu, citing personal reasons, after their December 27th live.

Quick disclaimer: I do include some things I translated from Japanese. My Japanese, it should be noted, is Very Not Good (my English is also clearly excellent XD), so some things might be more... paraphrasing than literal. Also, this is the page I tried to translate, and while I didn't get far at all, I am including some information in the post, but if it's completely wrong, please correct me!

Well, physically, his chin sort of bothers me sometimes, but he has an adorably feline smile/smirk when he uses it at the right angle, so I can overlook the chin. He likes to banter with Kai and Vict (bassist) (and sometimes Ryo - drums) via the OHP blog. Vict recently likened him to a lost sheep for some reason I do not know. >.>

Well, Kai is my favorite, so I think I remember more about him. He also just posts more on his blog (he answers fanmail questions in separate posts, so sometimes he'll post like ten times in a day) sand camwhores more, too. He didn't join the band until mid-2006. Their previous guitarist, Ryu(u), had left in early 2006, so LiZ was a four-man band for about half a year. When Kai came... emoticons exploded. Seriously. Kai is sort of adorable that way. He uses emoticons a lot, and started OHP diary wars by bothering Vict with emoticons that looked like one was pushing the other - he'd label the pushed one as Vict, and the pushing one as himself. He and Yuu sort of ganged up on Vict too, when they were all comparing him to a FFVII character (not Vincent Valentine, either! I don't remember who). And it seems like the others use emoticons more now too.
The first song he covered (<-- this is a possibly wrong translation) was L'Arc~en~Ciel's "Snow Drop." His favorite idol is Leah Dizon. I don't think he has any pets, but he does like cats. He's also the resident thigh-barer for the band, and their most recent costumes have him also showing his stomach. He's got... well, I haven't seen his ears yet, but he has his eyebrow and nose pierced on the left side, four piercings in his lower lips (or that's what it looks like - three spaced out and two crammed together on the left), and a navel piercing. Did I mention that he's adorable? XD Oh, and his color seems to be pink. He used to wear pink contacts even, which went nicely with Yuu's blue ones.

In December 2005, LiZ released their first single, but only at lives, as ickle baby bands do. XD In June 2006, they were part of the Hysteric Media Zone VA, Vol 7 compilation released by Speed-disk, and in December, released their first... buyable single, Red-Chain. More now-not-available singles followed, with some of the songs appearing on later releases, and after they signed with Speed-disk, L∞P XIII was released in May. IXION followed in June, and L-subliminal, their first mini-album followed in July. Next up is another Maxi single, Screaming Out Loud, to be released in November. Yay!

Recommendations:
My favorite songs are "Setsuna Kusa" and "Kagen Sakura," though I'm not sure why. They're not as RAWR as some of the others, but I also like the RAWR, so yeah. XD "Setsuna Kusa" has some nice melodic guitar solos in the middle, while "Kagen Sakura" has a bit of piano hiding in it. "Increase pain" is a more RAWR, and recently made an appearance on another VA compilation. For those of you who are bass-inclined (*eyes![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
cristal), there's a nice bass solo in the middle. I'd generally recommend L-sumblinal because well, it has the most songs and is the most recent. I think there's a greater variety between the songs, too. "Crying to roar" opens with church bells, for instance, while "Tsumetai taion" opens with (synthesized, I think) strings, and "Ran" goes for the one guitar joined by the second after a few measures approach and has some screamy-ness. "Stray cat" is a little more bouncy, but nothing like A9's song. ;) Their latest, "Awabeni karma" has some scratching (the DJ-style scratching... you know, the slidey noise? >.>) in it, followed by RAWRing.
So while I wouldn't say their style is ZOMGsounique or anything, and it could just be because I'm a fangirl and so pay more attention to the songs because there are so few of them than I might with say, Gazette or Laruku, I think they've got their own style.
And I will end with the cutest emoticon evar, courtesy of Kai (of course) and accompanied by something that translated as "pinky promise"(directed at Yuu, who I think had been talking about going out drinking or something).

"Increase pain" is a more RAWR, and recently made an appearance on another VA compilation. For those of you who are bass-inclined (*eyes
cristal), there's a nice bass solo in the middle. I'd generally recommend L-sumblinal because well, it has the most songs and is the most recent. I think there's a greater variety between the songs, too. "Crying to roar" opens with church bells, for instance, while "Tsumetai taion" opens with (synthesized, I think) strings, and "Ran" goes for the one guitar joined by the second after a few measures approach and has some screamy-ness. "Stray cat" is a little more bouncy, but nothing like A9's song. ;) Their latest, "Awabeni karma" has some scratching (the DJ-style scratching... you know, the slidey noise? >.>) in it, followed by RAWRing. So while I wouldn't say their style is ZOMGsounique or anything, and it could just be because I'm a fangirl and so pay more attention to the songs because there are so few of them than I might with say, Gazette or Laruku, I think they've got their own style.
And I will end with the cutest emoticon evar, courtesy of Kai (of course) and accompanied by something that translated as "pinky promise"(directed at Yuu, who I think had been talking about going out drinking or something).
