In another instance of Kpop pwning my other fandoms, D released their major anniversary photobook while at least 3/5 of them have horrible costumes and/or hair (Hiroki was fine until he got that bump in his hair - now, he's on the fence), and it makes me sad that I don't even want to click any of the thumbnails. Augh, Ruiza, even the crazy caveman look was better than this! ;_;

Meanwhile, SM released the teaser for SHINee's "Hello" MV, and it is bright and pretty and while it possess some questionable/distracting-in-a-not-neccessarily-flaily-way elements (Taemin's Mir hair, Key's all-red thermal-underwear-resembling ensemble, the Sesame Street-like set Jonghyun is sitting on, possibly the abuse of leopard print... okay, so the Mir-cloneness and Sesame Stree-ness I don't really mind since they amuse me), it has more than enough intriguing/shiny bits to make up for those. XD Like puffy cheeks and what Key is wearing around his neck when they've got their black outfits on, and well, the bright and pretty.

Also, I think I have the "Hello" font?

Let's see what else I can cram into this post in an hour.

Some SM Pandora bracelets? AND A HERD OF HORSIES )

...I wonder if Ruiza likes K-Pop, too, or just JE. XD

New ViViD and Vistlip PVs are cute. :3 Vistlip more than ViViD, ofc, but ViViD has shirtlessness (from the armpits up -.-). And I think Reno tries too hard to look all rockstar when he plays sometimes. A-n-y-w-a-y-s.

I think I killed my goldfish somehow when I cleaned his tank last night. I mean, he survived the cleaning process, but perhaps he was so traumatized, he had a little fishy heart attack sometime during the night or something. :(

Now the biggest problem is figuring out how to properly dispose of him, since he might be dangerously fat for the toilet, but we have so many cats in the neighborhood, he'd undoubtedly get dug up if I buried him in the yard. Dilemma.

In less fishslaughtery news, I decided to take all of the Rage and Argh that I've been building up as The Last Airbender came out and racebending came to the fore again (I have a rant, but I think it'll just be filtered to those who asked to see it, since it's not really anything new, just my own ramblerant about it, but if anyone else wants to see it, lemme know and I will add you to my filter XD), and make something positive. I try to be optimistic sometimes. So I decided to see how easy it was to make bracelets with our new store design at Pandora, and made some elemental bracelets.

They're inspired by Avatar mostly just in that... they're based on the elements and use some/most? of the same color scheme. Beyond that, though, they're kinda their own thing. But Avatar was what influenced me to make these in the first place, so.

On to the pictures + rambling! )

The end!

If anyone would like to link friends/fellow contributors/people who were wondering why you were carrying a crane around to this post, please go ahead!

I hadn't realized I actually first posted about this back at the end of February. O_o Granted, the first two weeks were pretty much just spent on gathering pictures, and most of the real work happened in the last week before Pancake Breakfast, but that is still longer than I thought it was. Funny, since I remember thinking that I had No Time For This when I first decided to do it.

Pancake Breakfast went well overall - a bit chaotic, and for some reason, everyone expected me to know who was working what position in what section of the dining areas (and also to be able to be bussing in three different areas at once). >.> Aside from working two shifts as a busser and contributing to the World Peace art exhibition, I made origami doves to hang from the ceiling as well as smaller doves and peace signs (not origami), so there will be pictures of those as well. Despite the rain, we ended up with almost 500 people in attendance over four hours,

The art piece turned out really well! There are a few things that gave me moments of ARGH, like when the paper warped, and how the kanji are kinda crooked, but generally, I'm very pleased with the end result. So THANK YOU ALL again for your support! ♥♥♥♥♥ I was amazed by the amount of pictures that were sent in, and I loved hearing the little stories that some of you included with them about the places/objects in the photos, or the process of taking them.

So, let's begin! If you want to skip me rambling about how I made the thing, go to the second cut. ;)

The creative process... )

And the actual exhibition starts about here! )

Once again, thank you all! The other pieces in the exhibition were really well-done - some were definitely made by art majors - but when I saw the final product up, I definitely didn't have that "AUGH AMATUER" feeling at all. It looks lovely. :D

Now... what to do with it when I have to take it down...

The Internet here is making the old I-house Interent look lightning-fast. x_x 10kb/s FAIL. Also, I was accidentally half an hour late to work today, which I am secretly glad for because the day was sooo sloooow. Post-Christmas shopping rushes do not affect us. XD But ultimately, I feel this day was good. :3

Good! Gary stopped by (with his sister and his mother) to visit me at the store, and then I ran into Justin during my dinnerbreak, which came at 2:30 when I was still full from lunch, because my bosses didn't want to have to cover for me (okay, that part wasn't good - the running into was XD).

Good! I have a little book on basic Japanese grammar and it is actually helpful. I wish it had kana as well as romaji for the examples, but it's succinct and gets the basic idea of things across, which is more what I need.

Good! [livejournal.com profile] dammitliv and [livejournal.com profile] elagnithgins, and [livejournal.com profile] pot_and_kettle's presents all came today! It was like Christmas morning, but at 11pm and more exciting. XDDD ♥♥♥ My mom kept hovering around to find out what I got, too. Sys, everything was lovely, but I gotta say that I love that the pen was wrapped in some kid's math progress report. XD Definitely unique wrapping paper.

Good! Revisiting the old "list your top 10 celebrities" meme at [livejournal.com profile] kamikaze_bunny's demand. XD The last time I did this was over three years ago when I was still heavily into X-men RPGs and not yet really in J-fandoms. This time? I went solely with Asian fandoms. And I am so indecisive I started kinda picking by category, which is how they're organized (as opposed to in 10-1 order). Also, if you asked me my top ten in a month, some of them would probably be different. :P

(Internet is now at 7.6kb/sec. *diiiies veeerry sloooowly*)

Hiyo, shiny people! )

Well, that's my list! I really rambled a lot, as I usually end up doing... :P And I could've added at least a few more people to this list, I think, since I like a lot of people equally/almost equally, but for different reasons. This will definitely do for now, though!

Tomorrow, we are off to the U.S.S. Enterprise! W00t~

Adopt one today! Adopt one today!
yeouya: (miyavi - itoshii hito)
Miyavi is now a father (to go with that, melody is now a mother!)! Wow! It's hard to imagine, but all joking aside, he seems like he'll be a good dad. He seems to really love kids, and well, any guy who will perform "If You're Happy and You Know It" in a concert will have no problem entertaining a little boy/girl. XD

And to make this not another one-note post, I finally went and snipped pictures for the second part of my intro post, so here are the perhaps-less-well-known (in JE circles, if not in general) guys I squee over. >.> My fandom squees are pretty much single-gender, I'll admit, though I think Kuroki Meisa is going to be who/what gets me through Ninkyo Helper, along with Yuki Jutta and the Takagis (I like it well enough, but I like it more when she's on-screen, so far XD).

So... I went through a twin phase )
